The Perfect Graduation Gifts

Graduation time has arrived! Many college students have already thrown their caps and many high schoolers are preparing to do the same thing. All the graduation photos popping up on social media has me taking a trip down memory lane to my own college graduation when I received my B.A. and then also my M.A.

There are many options for the perfect gift for the graduate. My go to for gifts to commemorate special occasions is always Tiffany & Co. because so many of my special moments involve a beautiful blue box.

When I graduated in 2008 my parents gifted me with this beautiful necklace from Tiffany & Co. I don’t wear it as often as I use to but I won’t part with it because it was a special gift. Ten years later I remember how excited I was to receive this.

In 2015 I received my M.A. in Communications and once again my parents gifted me a beautiful blue box. This time they gave me the lariat necklace from the 1837 Collection. I wear this frequently and always get compliments because of the uniqueness of the necklace design.

I wanted to share a list of a few things I think would make a perfect graduation gift!

Cap and Tassel Charm:  This can go on a charm bracelet or even a chain and be worn by itself. Charms always represent special occasions in one’s life so how could you not have a cap and tassel one? The cost is $200.

Luggage Tag: For some, graduation marks a time for travel. Perhaps the graduate is taking some time off to explore the world or maybe just moving to a different state for graduate school or a new job. This can be personalized with initials which adds an extra special touch. At $175 this is a little less expensive than the charm.

Round Tag Charm: Maybe you want to start with a blank slate and create your own personalized engraving gift. This is perfect for that and the options are endless. The charm alone is $75 and you can add a chain for $50 so a little more budget friendly then the cap and tassel charm.

As many of you know I work for a college and I had the privilege of having the same student intern for 4 years and she was terrific! After working with her for four years I wanted to do something special as she prepares to graduate. I opted for the cushion charm and I had the coordinates of Colby College engraved on it so she would have a special piece of jewelry to remind her of the four years she spent on Mayflower Hill!

Congrats to all the graduates out there, may your next endeavor be fun, challenging, and allow you to grow as a person!
