Turning 30 isn’t so bad when Audrey is Present

bday 1bday 2

Well this was the year, the year that I left my 20s and entered a new decade. Leading up to it I felt pretty good and not on the verge of a breakdown. I feel comfortable in my own skin and happy where life has taken me. However, I couldn’t help but remember hearing from so many others that 30 was where everything spiraled down. I think in the end it’s what you make out of it. If there is something you aren’t happy about, change it.

My husband is AWESOME and no you can’t have him. He planned a surprise party and hired a murder mystery company to come do dinner, followed by a band. The unfortunate part is the Type A event planner in me started planning my own party so he had to spill the surprise.

It wouldn’t be a Meghan party without a touch of Tiffany and Company and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The lady who did our wedding cake made these adorable cupcakes you see pictured above and I did the DIY centerpieces. I recommend making them for any fun party as I am not crafty AT ALL and found these really easy to pull together. I always have extra Tiffany bags on hand. I then purchased pearl strands from my local Party City store. In addition I went to my local AC Moore and bought vases and silk flowers, I placed the vase inside the bag and fluffed the flowers. I feel as though everyone needs a life size cardboard cutout of Audrey Hepburn, if you are in the market I found this one on Oriental Trading for $35. Lastly, Party City also has balloons that are called robin’s egg blue and they closely resemble a Tiffany Blue. All easy and pretty inexpensive items to purchase to turn any baby or bridal shower and birthday party into one-of-a-kind.

So here I am embracing my 30s. I think the Tiffany gift cards I received as presents helped make it a little easier. 🙂
