Countdown to the Oscars

This is about the time every year I get the “feels” you know the kind….right? We are three days away from the Oscars and I am anxiously awaiting the red carpet portion of the evening. While I enjoy the actual awards ceremony, it’s the red carpet that is my favorite. I love seeing the gowns, shoes but more importantly…the jewelry.

The Oscars is sometimes the first chance I get to see items from Tiffany and Company’s Blue Book being worn. I can’t wait to see what adorns these beauties.

Above I have shared some of my fave looks from previous Oscars.

At the 2014 Oscars, Jessica Biel may have walked the red carpet alone but the jewels kept her plenty of company. These pieces were original 1930s designs from Tiffany and Company’s archives. She wore the beautiful bow bracelet with emerald-cut aquamarines and diamonds. In addition, she wore a wide diamond bracelet, a five-row diamond bracelet, a diamond cluster necklace and diamond drop earrings. Can you say WOW!

Want an inside look into how Jessica Biel ultimately decided on these jewels? If so, you need to download the documentary Crazy About Tiffany’s on iTunes. I have a cameo in this film so I will admit this is part FYI and also part shameless plug for me. 🙂

Moving along, let’s talk Reese Witherspoon. I have always been a fan of her style. It always seems so chic but effortless. And hello….Patrick Dempsey famously proposed to her inside the Fifth Avenue store in the movie Sweet Home Alabama. At last year’s Oscars she chose Tiffany and Company jewels which included a pair of diamond cluster earrings, a wide diamond bracelet, a diamond ring and a rare 3.03-carat Fancy Intense blue diamond ring. I must say if there was a celebrity I could copy it would be her.

I am a diamond girl but when I saw Cate Blanchett at last year’s Oscars I almost fell to the floor. This one-of-a-kind bib necklace from Tiffany’s 2015 Blue Book Collection was quite the statement piece. It is composed of aquamarines, turquoise and diamonds arranged randomly with great texture. You could see this necklace from a mile away and plenty of jaws dropped (mine included).

At the 2011 Oscars, host Anne Hathaway showed off a $10 million Tiffany and Company necklace, totaling a breathtaking 94-carats worth of diamonds. Can you imagine the weight of that? This necklace goes down in history as some of the most expensive Oscar jewelry.

My last fave pic, which I assure you was hard to pick because I usually love all Tiffany jewels, is Emma Stone at last year’s Oscars. Tiffany said these cuffs were inspired from 1940s glamour. However there was some backlash because some critics felt they closely resembled a pair of cuffs designed by Suzanne Belperron. Either way, I thought they were stunning and Emma owned the carpet in her gown and these cuffs.

I know I will be glued to my television on Sunday trying to spot all the Tiffany jewels adorning these actors. Will you be doing the same?
